Does anyone remember a small park in Wichita, KS in the 50s?

The park had a lion/monkey house and an alligator pit. The man who ran it wrote a book about it called "I'll trade you a canary (or maybe it was a parakeet)" It is very likely the park is closed now, but it was a great place to go for picnics in the 1950s!
